Matthew 6
* Motives in Righteousness: Jesus warns against practicing faith for public recognition, as this seeks worldly
reward rather than God's approval. This applies to charitable deeds (giving), prayer, and fasting.
* The Lord's Prayer: A model for simple, sincere prayer focused on honoring God, seeking His will, asking for
daily needs, and practicing forgiveness.
* True Treasure: Followers are told to store up treasures in heaven rather than on earth, as earthly goods are
temporary and "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also".
* Overcoming Anxiety: Jesus instructs against worrying about basic needs (food, clothing) because God cares
for creation and knows his children's needs. The central directive is to "seek first the kingdom of God and
His righteousness"
