Acts 15
Salvation by Grace Alone:
Some teachers argued, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”
Peter reminded the council that God “made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.”, showing that legalism destroys the true gospel message.
Resolving Conflict in Unity:
Instead of fighting in division, the church in Antioch sent Paul and Barnabas to the apostles and elders in Jerusalem to talk through the problem.
James listened to testimony and used God’s Word to guide the group to a peaceful, unified choice that did not burden new believers.
Handling Personal Disagreements:
Paul and Barnabas had a serious disagreement about taking John Mark, causing them to separate paths.
Even though they parted ways, God used both teams (Barnabas with Mark, and Paul with Silas) to expand the reach of the gospel.
